The Ministry of Public Works, with funding from the World Bank through the Liberia Urban Resilience Project (LURP), has entered into Contractual Agreements with two local companies - Quality Group of Construction Company and RESCO Incorporated - for the installation of solar streetlights along several communities in Monrovia and its environs.
Minister Roland Layfette Giddings joined T-Max Jlateh on the 50-50 show to discuss Liberia’s national road network—its status, strategy, and sustainability. He outlined the current condition of paved and unpaved roads nationwide, highlighted ongoing and upcoming construction and rehabilitation projects, and detailed plans to bridge the rural-urban accessibility gap. The discussion also emphasized maintenance systems and community-based road management to keep corridors serviceable and ensure long-term value from road investments.
