Women Empowerment in Action: Soap Making Skills Training by MPW Women's Association

On 24 June 2025, the Ministry of Public Works Women Association, under the dynamic leadership of its President Madam Irene Doegma Saye, launched a powerful women empowerment initiative centered around Soap-Making. The event was hosted in the Ministry’s Workshop and it brought together vibrant women passionate about developing practical skills that can contribute to economic independence and self-reliance.

In her opening remarks, President Saye emphasized the importance of empowering women through vocational training, noting that when women are equipped with the right tools and knowledge, families and communities become stronger and more resilient. She encouraged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity not only to learn, but also to support one another in building sustainable livelihoods. “My fellow women, I want to admonish you to make maximum use of this opportunity, and do so with the understanding that it could pay off in the nearest future”, Madam Saye lamented.

This hands-on training continues tomorrow, providing participants with further exposure to the art and business potential of soap-making. The initiative is a shining example of how practical programs can uplift women and help unlock their full potential.
