MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS, SIGNED MOU WITH LAST WELL LIBERIA

The Ministry of Public Works and LAST WELL, Inc, a US-based NGO, today signed an MOU under which the NGO will provide 30,000 water purification filters to 240,000 persons in five counties in Liberia. This is in addition to ongoing works by LAST WELL in the water sector. Safe drinking water is a must for all of our people under the Pro Poor Agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Public Works, Hon. Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan thanked and appreciated the Last Well Family for such an incredible Water and Sanitation exercise. He maintained this is a milestone in the history of our country and also the promotion and implementation of the Pro-poor Agenda.

For his part, the Senior Vice President for Operation at Last Well Liberia Mr. Augustine Doc Lawson thanked and appreciated the Ministry and the Government of Liberia at large for affording them the opportunity for such an exchanged.

Mr. Lawson intimated at the ceremony that there are 30,000 fitters which were imported in the country to be deployed in 5 counties, which includes a) Sineo b) Rivergee c) Maryland d) Grand Kru and e) Rivercess, he also stated that the lifespan of the filters is 15yrs and 240,000 households are expected to benefit from said initiative.
