Independence Day Message from the Ministry of Public Works
My Fellow Citizens of Liberia,
On behalf of the Ministry of Public Works, it is my great honor and privilege to extend warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to all Liberians as we celebrate our cherished Independence Day on 26th July 2024.
This day is a profound reminder of our shared history, our enduring spirit, and our unwavering commitment to building a brighter future for our beloved nation.
Today, we stand united in joy and pride as we celebrate the anniversary of our beloved nation's independence. On this historic day, we reflect upon the struggles and sacrifices of those who fought for the freedom and sovereignty we now enjoy. It is a time to honor their legacy and reaffirm our commitment to the principles of liberty, justice, and unity that define our great nation.
The Ministry of Public Works remains dedicated to the development and enhancement of our nation's infrastructure, which is vital to our economic growth and the well-being of our citizens. Our roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals are the lifelines that connect our communities and drive our progress. On this Independence Day, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing these critical projects, ensuring that every Liberian has access to the opportunities and services they deserve.
On an aggregate, it is safe to assert that significant progress has been made in the infrastructure sector of the country amid the plethora of challenges. While this is no reason for complacency, we are inclined to note that the challenges that lie ahead are enormous and require the deployment of technical skills to off-set these challenges.
And as we commemorate this special day, let us remember that our freedom is not just a gift from the past, but a responsibility for the future. Each of us has a role to play in building a more prosperous, inclusive, and harmonious Liberia. Let us work together to ensure that every citizen, regardless of background, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to our nation’s progress.
In the face of global challenges, our unity is our greatest strength. Let us celebrate our differences and embrace the diversity that makes us unique. By fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and cooperation, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness.
On “July 26, 2024”, let the skies of Liberia be filled with the colors of our flag and the sounds of our joy. Let us gather with family and friends, reflect on our journey, and look forward to a future optimistic with promise and possibility.
Happy Independence Day, Fellow Liberians! May our nation continue to flourish and may the spirit of freedom always guide us.
With pride and solidarity,
Roland Layfette Giddings
Minister
