LCG Group Meets With MPW Officials
Five members visiting delegation from the Liaoning Provincial Urban-Rural construction Group Co. Ltd has met officials of the Ministry of Public Works. LCG group which is based in China is an international construction firm doing business in Africa.
The meeting took place in the conference room of the Minister on Monday, April 16, 2018. Public Works Minister Mobutu Nyenpan, Deputy Minister for Administration Joseph Todd and Deputy Minister for Technical Services Claude Langley including Assistant Ministers for Administration and Community Services attended the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting, according to the Company’s Senior Consultant Mr. Wang Honggang was to extend a hand of partnership to the Liberian government with specific emphasis on their company’s scope of services as well as SINO’s cooperation and its lasting impact on the African continent.
The LCG official explained that, as a company that focuses on infrastructure projects, its activities stem from construction project financing, planning, consulting, survey, design, construction, operation, and technical research.
While looking up to a positive response, the group said it is willing to partner with Liberia in its priority projects and has also indicated the company’s ability to source funding for projects that of tier 1 but cannot be funded through the Liberian Government traditional funding schemes.
Responding to the company’s desire for partnership, Public Works Minister Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan acknowledged the company’s intention to work with the Liberian
Government through the Ministry of Public Works in its development drive.
Minister Nyenpan informed the visiting guests that, the “Pro poor” Government of Mr. George Weah is keen on using infrastructure as a means of lifting the country from the lowest poverty index to middle class.
He promised to introduce the group to President George Weah upon briefing him on their intention to do business with Liberia.
Meanwhile, both the ministry and LCG group have agreed to share perspectives in future meetings which, according to the Minister will be more of technical discussions as its relates to projects and priorities of the Ministry and LCG Group’s own approach to fitting in the Ministry’s plan.
While in the country, the international construction firm is expected to meet with other Liberian Government stakeholders to discuss broader participation in the rebuilding exercise of the Country.
