EU Ambassador to Liberia Extols Government of Liberia for Sanniquellie - Louquatuo Road Construction
EU Ambassador to Liberia, Nona Deprez has extolled the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Public Works for the construction of the Sanniquellie to Louquatuo Road Project.
Speaking Friday at the Ministry of Public Works as part of MPW - EU Joint Press Briefing, Ambassador Deprez praised the supervision of the project, terming it "a beautiful road project".
According to her, the Project is eighty five (85%) percent completed nearing inauguration at the end of this year.
Meanwhile, the EU Envoy has stressed the importance of what she called "regional integration" that facilitates the movement of people, goods and services across ECOWAS and MRU member countries aimed at enhancing trade; thus contributing to national development.
For his part, Public Works Minister Roland Layfette Giddings thanked the European Union and other Donor Partners including the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank for the implementation of the Project.
Minister Giddings also used the meeting to reaffirm the Government’s commitment to improving the status of major road corridors in the country in keeping with President Boakai's vision of roads connectivity as enshrined in the ARREST AGENDA.
He however craved the EU and other Development Partners for the construction of the country's Coastal Corridor; which, according to him, aims to connect major counties in the southeastern part of the country.
The Sanniquellie to Louquatuo Road Project is a 47.1 kilometers Road Project that connects Liberia with neighboring Ivory Coast.
