MONROVIA, January 9 (LINA)-The Minister of Public of Public Works, Mr. William Gyude Moore, has commended the government and people of Japan for providing a US $5.6 M grant to the Liberian Government through its Counterpart Value Fund.

He said the grant will enable the Government of Liberia to begin proper layout of communities along the ELWA-Roberts International Airport highway road corridor.

Speaking at the Public Works Ministry in Monrovia Friday, Mr. Moore said  the project will include securing the right of way  for the four-lane carriage from ELWA to RIA  and opening  of  alleys and corridors within communities along this road corridor.

According to Mr. Moore, the project which will last for three years, will also include installation of sidewalks and planting of culverts.

The Public of Public Works Minister said the project will help residents of the affected communities have easy access to their respective properties, as well as facilitate the removal of structures constructed in alleyways and community roads along the ELWA-RIA highway.
