The Liberia National Infrastructure Conference taking place in Ganta City, Nimba County on January 19, 2026 convened an array of Stakeholders including Government Officials, Development Partners, Regional Actors amongst others as part of the launch of the National Infrastructure Conference.

The NIC was officially launched by H.E. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai who rallied  the support of key players in the Infrastructure Sector.
The Liberian Leader commended the Organizers, especially the Ministry of Public Works, noting that infrastructure building is more than cement and steel.

In his Keynote Address, the Ghanaian Minister of Works, Housing  and Water Resources Kenneth Gilbert Adjei intimated that the development of any country’s infrastructure cannot rely solely on Government funding.

According to him, leveraging Public-Private Financing is crucial towards bridging infrastructure gaps.

For his part, Minister Roland Layfette Giddings extolled the President for the thoughtfulness and reaffirmed the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to changing the infrastructure landscape of Liberia.

The National Infrastructure Conference comes on the heels of the Government of Liberia’s vision to provide a relook of the country’s infrastructure spanning different dispensations-pre war, during the war and post war reconstruction.

Meanwhile, the Conference enters Day-2 today, and it features a panel discussion on three thematic areas: "Energy, Telecommunications and Water & Sanitation".
