Ministry of Public Works Concludes Its Retreat in Ganta: Prepares to Face the Dry Season
The Ministry of Public Works has concluded the third day of its ongoing retreat, marking significant progress in aligning its operations with GoL's ARREST Agenda tied to robust ethical standards and strategic goals. Central to these discussions was the internal reform to enhance ethical standards, a directive emphasizing the criticality of maintaining high standards of professional conduct. The Ministry reiterates its commitment to professionalism, urging all employees to remain steadfast in upholding these values in every aspect of their duties, which is essential for sustaining trust and integrity within the sector.
The retreat also validated the Ministry's comprehensive five-year Strategic Plan, which delineates a roadmap to address sectoral challenges. Through a thorough review, the Strategic Plan outlined strategic approaches to tackle longstanding issues, ensuring that solutions are practical and sustainable. This validation provides a blueprint for the Ministry’s activities, fostering a proactive environment where anticipated obstacles are systematically addressed.
Another key highlight was the initiative to redefine communications within the Ministry. This renewed focus seeks to synchronize all internal and external information flows to enhance the effectiveness of communication. By developing a cohesive communication framework, the Ministry aims to improve transparency and foster public understanding of its work, further solidifying its role in national development.
Lastly, the retreat spotlighted the Liberian-Swedish Village Access Road Project (LISA Project), a critical infrastructure endeavor aimed at improving farm-to-market road accessibility in the regions of Bong, Lofa, and Nimba. Currently at its fourth stage of implementation, this project is a cornerstone of rural development, designed to facilitate smoother transportation for farmers and ease access to markets. Through initiatives like LISA, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to enhancing the lives of rural communities and supporting economic growth across Liberia.
