The Ministry of Public Works' Zoning Division Initiates Campaign to Clear Alleyways Ahead of Road and Sidewalk Improvements in Monrovia:
With an aim to enhance road access and revitalize communities, the Zoning Division of the Ministry of Public Works has launched a campaign focusing on the clearance of alleyways obstructed by unauthorized structures. This initiative, which started on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, will run through the end of March, targeting both public and private constructions that encroach upon these spaces.
During this period, the division will also identify and mark buildings that blatantly disregard the National Zoning Law and the Construction Policy of the Ministry of Public Works. Structures marked for demolition will be cleared to facilitate road access and beautification projects in Monrovia and surrounding areas.
Moreover, the division will impose fines on owners who have undertaken constructions in alleyways without the requisite Construction Permit from the Ministry of Public Works, underscoring the ministry's commitment to public safety and regulatory compliance.
