MONROVIA, LIBERIA: The Ministry of Public Works on Thursday, March 28, 2024 completed a Site Visit to various road corridors in Monrovia and its environs.

The Team, led by Minister Giddings and his principal Deputies, inspected major PSIP Projects including the Banjor Road, Necklay's Town Concrete Pavement, the Johnsonville to Dry Rice Market Road, Johnsonville to Mount Barclay Road, Small St. Michael to Patience Shop Road, the Freeport to St. Paul Bridge Road, the Pipeline to Johnsonville Road, the Soul Clinic, amongst others.

Addressing a team of reporters during the Site Visit, Minister Giddings stressed that the awarding of Contracts will be strictly on the basis of performance, contrary to previous ones awarded that were either not performing due to certain level of technical incapacitation, or that the Past Administration defaulted on Contractors' payments.

According to him, the move is geared towards clearing all Existing Contracts before the Ministry can begin awarding new contracts. 
In a related development, the Ministry has begun what it calls "Sustainable  Community Partnership Engagement" that places its equipment at the disposal of the communities to enable the clearing and opening of alleyways.

As part of the Pilot Phase, the Sustainable Community Partnership Engagement successfully commenced in the New Israel Community yesterday with the use of MPW Equipment.

The exercise is also expected to continue in other communities across Montserrado as the Ministry of Public Works seeks to connect various settlements.
